The Gaper is a creature I've been developing for my project 3105YNTH, as well as a personal submission for a third-year game development module at Falmouth university. It has been a brilliant opportunity to explore new technologies and techniques as well as to study anatomy to improve the presentation and realization of this beast. Before this project, I had never utilized Zbrush layers, displacement maps, rendered animation/compositing, or Ziva Dynamics(and the general use of simulation in conjunction with rigging and animation). With all of these new techniques I feel like I have only just scratched the surface and I hope to utilize them further in real-time game development and prerendered CGI.
